Prison Sentences for Two Individuals for Illegal Drug Possession

The Paphos District Court sentenced a 35-year-old to 3.5 years in prison and a 19-year-old to 2.5 years, after finding them guilty of illegal possession of drugs with intent to supply to others. The two men were arrested by YKAN (Cyprus Drug Squad) on September 24, 2025, during a coordinated operation in Paphos. During the search, 62 grams of cannabis, 15 grams of cocaine, metal grinders, and a precision scale were found in their possession. The drugs were intended for trafficking and sale to third parties. The court took into consideration the quantities of drugs, the tools found in their possession, and the fact that illegal drug possession is a serious offense. The conviction aims to deter similar crimes and protect society. The case was investigated by the Paphos YKAN, which continues to conduct checks to combat drug addiction and trafficking in the area.
