Absence of High-Level Greek Representation at Cypriot Presidential Inauguration Raises Questions

The absence of high-level representation from Greece at the inauguration ceremony of the Cypriot Presidency has raised questions. While representation from non-EU countries was possible, Greece was only represented by EU institutional bodies, as dictated by common European practice. Each EU member state has the option to invite heads of state or government or other officials from outside the EU to such ceremonies, but this did not occur in the case of the Cypriot Presidency.
