Rare 'Glory' Phenomenon Spotted in Cypriot Sky

A rare optical phenomenon, known as a 'Glory', was observed in the Cypriot sky on Sunday (January 25th), in an area near Machairas. This phenomenon appears as a circular rainbow, or halo, around the observer's shadow on clouds or fog. It is created by the backscattering of light on microscopic water droplets and is characterized by concentric rings, with red on the outside and blue on the inside. Unlike a regular rainbow, the 'Glory' has a smaller diameter and is caused by different physical processes.
