Putin Responds to Trump's Peace Council Proposal: Russia Considering Participation

Russian President Vladimir Putin announced that he has instructed the Russian Foreign Ministry to study the invitation from Donald Trump to join the “Peace Council.” Putin expressed his gratitude for the initiative, leaving the possibility of Russian participation open. Trump, speaking from Davos, claimed Putin has already accepted the invitation. Putin suggested the $1 billion participation cost could be covered by frozen Russian assets, which could also be used for the reconstruction of war-torn areas. The “Peace Council” aims to find a solution for the war in Gaza. Putin emphasized that Russia will support any effort to resolve the Israeli-Palestinian conflict, while also clarifying that the issue of Greenland does not concern Russia, criticizing Denmark for its treatment of the territory.
