Prince Harry Testifies in Lawsuit Against Daily Mail: 'They Made My Wife's Life Miserable'

Prince Harry testified at the High Court in London as a witness in the lawsuit he has filed against the publisher of the Daily Mail, Associated Newspapers Limited, for unlawful information gathering. The Duke of Sussex stated that during his royal duties, he could not react to the newspaper's publications due to his role. Along with six other public figures, including Elton John, Prince Harry accuses ANL of illegal practices such as phone hacking and surveillance. The lawsuit is based on 14 articles published between 2001 and 2013, which caused the prince “great distress” and had no public interest. Prince Harry denounced a campaign of surveillance and obsession by the press, which led him to paranoia and isolation. He argued that the leaked information did not come from his circle and that he had no friendly relations with the journalists who harassed him. Expressing his emotion, Prince Harry stated that the life of his wife, Meghan Markle, had been turned into “a misery” by the media. His testimony aims to hold Associated Newspapers Limited accountable for its actions and protect the public interest.
