NASA Reports Progress Towards Moon Return in 2025

NASA announced significant progress in preparations for a return to the Moon in 2025, with the Artemis II test flight scheduled for early 2026. This mission will be the first crewed flight around the Moon in more than 50 years and is a precursor to future missions to Mars. In 2025, NASA made two robotic landings on the Moon and presented 10 new astronaut candidates. Additionally, 59 countries have now signed the Artemis Accords, committing to a safe and responsible exploration of the Moon. Medical and technological experiments for long-duration space missions were also advanced, as was the test flight of the X-59 supersonic aircraft. NASA recorded significant scientific discoveries, such as the joint satellite mission with India to monitor Earth and the identification of a third interstellar object in our solar system.
