Asia's Richest Man Commissions $1.5 Million Bollywood-Inspired Watches

Asia's richest man, Mukesh Ambani, has commissioned a series of watches from Jacob & Co, estimated to cost $1.5 million each. The watches are inspired by Ambani's private zoo, Vantara, and feature handcrafted figurines of his youngest son. The design includes a lion, a tiger, and 397 precious stones. Jacob & Co has not revealed the exact price, but it is estimated at $1.5 million. The Vantara zoo, which houses over 2,000 species, has been the subject of criticism for illegal acquisition and mistreatment of animals. Ambani used the zoo as the setting for his son Amant's wedding to Radhika Merchant. Jacob & Co describes the watch as a “tribute” to Vantara, with the figurine of Anant symbolizing management and responsibility. The creation of these watches highlights the luxurious lifestyle and interests of Mukesh Ambani, as well as Jacob & Co's ability to create unique and expensive products.
