Published January 24, 2026, 06:13

A yellow warning for rain and thunderstorms is in effect in Cyprus from 10:00 p.m. Friday to 5:00 p.m. Saturday. Low pressure and dust in the atmosphere contribute to the unstable weather. The weather is expected to be cloudy with local showers and isolated thunderstorms, with the possibility of hail during the storms. Snow or sleet is expected in the mountains. After noon, the phenomena will gradually weaken. Winds will be northeasterly to southeasterly, light to moderate, and locally strong on the coasts. The temperature will range around 14 degrees Celsius inland, 17 degrees on the coasts, and 7 degrees in the mountains. In the evening, there will be temporary increased clouds, with light to moderate northeasterly/southeasterly winds and a slightly rough sea. The temperature will drop to 6 degrees inland, 9 on the coasts, and 2 in the mountains, with the possibility of frost. On Sunday and Monday, the weather will be intermittently cloudy. On Tuesday, it is expected to gradually become cloudy with isolated showers and local thunderstorms towards the evening. The temperature will rise on Sunday and remain relatively stable until Tuesday, fluctuating above average climatic values. The snow height at Troodos is 15 centimeters.
