EU Commissioners Discuss Key Issues with Cypriot Ministers

The European Commission College held discussions with Ministers of the Republic of Cyprus at the Port of Limassol, as part of the Cypriot Presidency of the Council of the EU. The discussions were organized into four thematic areas: “A Global Union,” “A Prosperous and Resilient EU,” “A Competitive, Sustainable, Digital and Connected Union,” and “A Union of Values, Equality and Opportunities.” Simultaneously, the President of the European Commission, Ursula von der Leyen, held a bilateral meeting with the President of the Republic, Nikos Christodoulides. The choice of Limassol Port as the venue for the discussions symbolizes the importance of maritime transport to the EU and Cyprus, as well as the port's role as a hub for the “Amalthea” Plan, the Cypriot humanitarian initiative.
