Stefanou: The Leadership of DIKO Becomes Dependent on the Policies of DISY

The General Secretary of AKEL, Stefanos Stefanou, accused the leadership of DIKO of becoming dependent on the policies of DISY. He argued that DIKO is being drawn into the neoliberal policies of the Democratic Rally and that it has changed its stance on issues of historical truth and resistance to the coup. Mr. Stefanou criticized the fact that DIKO voted for funds for the creation of museums dedicated to Grivas, considering it as the completion of a cycle in which the party fully supports the neoliberal policies of DISY. He stressed that AKEL will continue to build collaborations with society, pointing out that there are many common elements between the left-wing party and the people of DIKO, both historically and in policies that are necessary for Cyprus, in order to support society in a time of hardship and poverty.
