UN Secretary-General's Envoy to Cyprus for Talks with Leaders

The UN Secretary-General's Personal Envoy, Maria Angela Holguin, is expected in Cyprus tomorrow to meet with the leaders of the two communities. She will first meet with the negotiators from both sides, who are in continuous contact. Following this, she will have separate meetings with President Christodoulides and Turkish Cypriot leader Erhurman to assess the progress made since the December discussions. A joint meeting of the two leaders with Ms. Holguin will take place on Wednesday. Ms. Holguin's visit coincides with a UN Security Council session on Thursday, where the renewal of UNFICYP's mandate in Cyprus will be decided.
