Passenger Airlifted to Nicosia General Hospital After Medical Emergency on Ship

A ship passenger required urgent medical attention and was airlifted to Nicosia General Hospital. The ship, located 125 nautical miles south of Limassol, issued a distress signal in the early hours of the morning, reporting a medical issue with the passenger. The Larnaca Coordination Center for Research and Rescue immediately activated the national plan “NEARCHOS” and mobilized a helicopter from the Police Air Operations Unit, with a specialized nurse from the Ambulance Service. The patient was safely transported to Nicosia General Hospital for further medical care.
