UN Envoy to Meet with Cypriot Leaders on January 27th

The Personal Envoy of the UN Secretary-General for Cyprus, Maria Angela Holguin, will return to Cyprus next week and will meet with the President Christodoulides and the T/C leader Erhurm on Tuesday, January 27th. The meeting with President Christodoulides is scheduled for 10:00 AM, while the meeting with Mr. Erhurm will follow at 2:00 PM. The UN Spokesman in Cyprus, Alim Siddiq, stated that no other meetings have been scheduled at this time. However, according to information, President Christodoulides has expressed his desire for a joint meeting with the T/C leader and Ms. Holguin. Ms. Holguin's visit comes at a critical time for the Cyprus issue, as negotiations remain deadlocked. The aim of the meetings is to find ways to restart negotiations and achieve a sustainable solution to the problem.
