President Christodoulides to Visit Bahrain to Sign Eight Agreements

The President of the Republic, Nikos Christodoulides, will pay an official visit to Bahrain on January 25th and 26th, at the invitation of the King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa. The visit is part of the government's strategy to strengthen relations with Gulf states and upgrade cooperation at political, economic, energy, cultural, and defense levels. During the visit, eight Agreements and Memoranda of Understanding will be signed in areas such as education, culture, tourism, military cooperation, research, and rescue. President Christodoulides will meet with the King of Bahrain to discuss bilateral relations, regional and international developments, the Cyprus issue, and EU-Bahrain relations. In addition, the President will brief on the priorities of the upcoming Cypriot Presidency of the Council of the EU, with emphasis on strengthening relations with the Middle East and Gulf states. He will also attend the Cyprus-Bahrain Business Forum and visit Bahrain's state Sovereign Wealth Fund. The visit culminates in the inauguration of the Embassy of the Republic of Cyprus in Manama, marking a further strengthening of institutional cooperation and political dialogue between the two countries.
