Deals Dominate the Greek Food and Beverage Industry in 2025

The Greek food and beverage industry remains a key pillar of the economy, with a turnover reaching 20 billion euros. 2025 is expected to be a year of intense business deals, with historic brands changing ownership and large funds investing in the market. The sector represents 27.7% of manufacturing, employs over 376,000 people, and is a significant exporter with over 7 billion euros in exports. Despite continuous challenges, the industry ensures food security and access to safe and affordable products, while simultaneously absorbing price increases. Activity is expected to remain strong in 2026, with a focus on enhancing competitiveness and extroversion. A recent notable deal is the acquisition of the meat processing company P.G. Nikas A.B.E.E. by Yfantis A.B.E.E., which is expected to create strong prospects for growth and innovation. The completion of the acquisition took place in early December. Furthermore, Leader completed the acquisition of “Ellinikes Farmes” with the support of DECA Investments. This move strengthens Leader's position in the representation, storage, distribution, and trade of dairy and cheese products.
