Police Operations Result in Arrests and Traffic Citations

The Cyprus Police conducted extensive proactive operations across the island overnight, aiming to prevent criminal activities and protect citizens. During these operations, three individuals were arrested in Larnaca, Limassol, and Famagusta for various offenses, including attempted murder, driving under the influence, and traffic violations. In Larnaca, the arrest relates to a case of attempted murder and causing grievous bodily harm, while in Limassol, a person was arrested for driving without a license and reckless driving. In Famagusta, the arrest was made due to driving under the influence of alcohol, with the blood alcohol content significantly exceeding the legal limit. Alongside the arrests, the Police carried out checks on premises to prevent illegal activities. On the road network, over 360 checks were performed, resulting in more than 120 traffic citations and the impoundment of 9 vehicles. These operations are part of a broader, ongoing preventative plan by the Police, which includes increased police presence, targeted checks, and immediate action in all provinces, with the aim of enhancing citizens' sense of security.
