Pension Reform, Energy and Water Issues Discussed at Presidential Palace

President Nikos Christodoulides held meetings at the Presidential Palace focusing on the promotion of pension reform, monitoring the implementation of energy plans, and addressing the water issue. The pension meeting discussed the adequacy and increase of pensions, the sustainability of the Fund, and the implementation timeline. Regarding water, he was briefed on the current situation due to prolonged drought and discussed actions for desalination plants, the use of recycled water, and demand management. The energy meeting focused on progress at the Vasiliko terminal and other efforts to reduce energy costs and ensure energy sufficiency. Discussions also included the commercial exploitation of natural gas reserves in the Cypriot EEZ.
