Turkey: Seven Police Officers Injured in Clash with Alleged ISIS Militants

Seven police officers were injured in a shootout with individuals allegedly linked to the Islamic State (ISIS) in the Yalova province of Turkey. Police were conducting an operation at a house where they had information about the presence of militants. The suspects opened fire on the police, resulting in their injuries. Special forces were dispatched to the area to support the operation. Earlier, police had detained 115 people suspected of planning attacks during the holidays. Turkey has experienced attacks by jihadists in the past, such as those at Istanbul airport in 2016 and the Reina nightclub on New Year's Eve 2017.
