Criminal Network Exposed in Larnaca Court: Drug Trafficking and Protection Racket Allegations

Revelations emerged in the Larnaca District Court regarding a criminal organization allegedly operating in the area for three years, imposing 'protection' on nightclubs through violence and extortion. Five Cypriots, including a National Guard contract soldier, are in custody. The case came to light after the seizure of the soldier's mobile phones, which contained videos showing him displaying large sums of money and concealing suspicious items, believed to be drugs. The videos suggest the soldier was collaborating with a 42-year-old man, who is allegedly the head of the organization and controls drug trafficking and protection rackets. According to the Police, the 42-year-old collected money from drug sales and protection, while the soldier carried out the trafficking and concealed the drugs. One video shows the soldier stating that the money comes from a nightclub in the Mackenzie area.
