Last night, the area of Chromio on the highest peaks of Troodos recorded the lowest temperature of the winter, reaching -6.0°C. Today is also expected to be cold, with temperatures below normal for the season. According to the Department of Meteorology, weak high pressure affects the area, with intermittent increased clouds. Winds will be light to moderate, northwesterly to northeasterly. The temperature will rise to 13°C inland, around 15°C on the coast, and 2°C in the mountains. Tonight, the weather will be mainly clear, but with local increased clouds. Winds will be light northwesterly to northeasterly, and the sea will be calm to slightly choppy. The temperature will drop to 4°C inland, around 7°C on the coast, and -2°C in the mountains. Frost is expected in the mountains, foothills, and possibly locally in the plains. On Saturday, the weather will remain mainly clear, with intermittent increased clouds. On Sunday and Monday, increased high clouds are expected. The temperature will gradually rise over the three-day period, slightly exceeding the average climatological values. The general forecast shows a cold period gradually giving way to milder temperatures.
