Useful Conclusions and Significant Experiences on the Second Day of the 36th EAK-PSAT Conference

The second day of the 36th EAK-PSAT Conference, held in Larnaca, concluded with useful conclusions and significant experiences. Discussions focused on the responsibility of sports journalists in the age of social media, the effective operation of Press Offices, and the practical applications of artificial intelligence in sports journalism. A key issue that emerged was the difficulty of covering sports that do not have high commercial appeal, as the media tend to focus on sports that generate profit and high viewership. It was proposed to leverage social media by athletes in these sports to attract public interest. In addition, the sports cooperation between Cyprus and Greece at the political level, as well as the signing of an agreement between the federations of the two countries in Handball, were discussed. The importance of education and the cultivation of sports from school, as is done in countries such as Poland and France, was emphasized as a factor of development. Finally, the tools of artificial intelligence that sports journalists can use to improve their work were analyzed, while it was recognized that artificial intelligence cannot replace human judgment and creativity.
