37-Year-Old Sentenced to Six Years in Prison for Drug Offense

A 37-year-old man has been sentenced to six years in prison by the Larnaca Criminal Court for a drug-related offense. The conviction follows targeted operations by the Drug Enforcement Unit (YKAN) to combat drug trafficking, during which approximately two kilograms of cannabis were seized. Specifically, during an operation in the Larnaca district, a 36-year-old was found in possession of one kilogram of cannabis, while a subsequent search of his residence revealed and confiscated an additional kilogram. Simultaneously, a vehicle belonging to a 24-year-old was found to contain nine grams of cannabis, precision scales, and a sum of money, resulting in the arrest of both individuals. The two suspects were brought before the Larnaca District Court for the issuance of a detention order. YKAN continues its investigations into the case.
