Baby Food Recall in Cyprus Due to Potential Toxin

The Health Services of the Ministry of Health in Cyprus are recalling specific baby food products due to the potential presence of cereulide, a toxin produced by the Bacillus cereus microorganism. The recall began on January 8, 2026, following notification from the Rapid Alert System for Food and Feed (RASFF), and was expanded with the addition of new batches after further investigation in the Cypriot market. Nestle was the first company to voluntarily recall its products. Consumers are advised not to use the recalled batches and to return them to the stores where they were purchased. The Health Services continue to investigate the incident and check for possible distribution of additional products from other companies, including parallel trade. It is noted that products may have been purchased online from stores outside of Cyprus. Buyers who made purchases online are asked to check if the products they received fall within the recalled batches, using the updated product list available online. In the list, users must select the country of the seller to see the relevant recalls. Photos of the products distributed by the official representatives in Cyprus are provided for easy identification.
