Complaint Against SCP: Rejecting Qualified Graduates of Cypriot Universities

Published January 15, 2026, 17:27

A group of graduates from Cypriot Universities are complaining to the Council of Registration of Psychologists (SCP) for illegal and extra-legal behavior, which they claim excludes them from employment. These psychologists hold recognized postgraduate and doctoral degrees and have completed the required practical training. The complainants argue that the SCP questions the adequacy of the practical training they have completed, replacing DIPAE (Quality Assurance and Certification Agency for Higher Education) and unilaterally determining the content of the training and the structures where it can be obtained. The lawyer representing the graduates argues that the SCP's behavior violates the law and infringes on the rights of psychologists to work, be educated, and receive equal treatment. The letter of complaint is addressed to the President of the Republic, the Council of Ministers, and the Minister of Health.
