Cyprus Building Innovation Ecosystem with US Tech Giants

Cyprus is positioning itself as an emerging innovation ecosystem through strategic partnerships with US technology giants, including NVIDIA, Plug and Play, Tenstorrent, and Columbia University. President Christodoulides' contacts in the United States in April 2025 yielded concrete results in the areas of technology, research, and education. Specifically, Cyprus will acquire an upgraded national High-Performance Computing (HPC) infrastructure with the support of NVIDIA, which will support the development of artificial intelligence, clean energy, and other sectors. Plug and Play will create an Innovation Center to support startups and connect research with the market. Tenstorrent has already opened an office in Cyprus and is hiring staff, strengthening the country's position in the European artificial intelligence and semiconductor ecosystem. At the same time, collaborations with Columbia University are being promoted in education and research programs, including a dual-degree program. Finally, the integration of the Experience AI program into schools is being launched, and pilot applications of ChatGPT Education in Technical Schools are being considered.
