Cyprus Dams Experience Best March Since 2019 - Overflowing Dams in Paphos

March proved to be a particularly positive month for Cyprus' dams, with water inflow being the best since 2019, reaching 68.880 million cubic meters. The overall dam capacity stands at 29.9%, showing an increase compared to last year. Despite the general improvement, the Southern Conveyor system remains with marginal improvement, highlighting the need for water conservation. Nicosia, despite the fullness of its small dams, has small reserves, while Paphos and Polis Chrysochous show the largest increase. An overflow of another dam in Paphos, the Agia Marina Chrysochous dam, is expected. However, the Achna dam is at a very low level of fullness (2.1%) with no inflows since October 2023. Officials emphasize that the completion of the hydrological period will determine the final picture.
