Cyprus in Deep Freeze - Coldest Night of the Winter

Cyprus is experiencing a deep freeze, with temperatures expected to drop to 2 degrees Celsius inland, 4 degrees on the south and east coasts, 7 degrees on the west and north coasts, and -3 degrees in the higher mountains. Frost is expected in the mountains and foothills, as well as in sheltered inland areas. The weather tomorrow will be mainly clear, with localized increases in cloud cover after noon. Winds will be light and variable, and the sea will be calm to slightly choppy. The temperature will rise to 15 degrees inland, around 17 degrees on the coasts, and 6 degrees in the mountains, where frost will continue in the morning. On Friday, the weather will gradually become cloudy, with a possibility of local showers in the mountains. Saturday and Sunday are expected to be intermittently cloudy with isolated showers, mainly in the western half of the island, while snow or sleet may fall on the highest peaks of Troodos. The temperature will remain stable on Friday, but a noticeable drop is expected by Sunday, falling below average climatic values. The snow height at Troodos's Chionistra is already 30 centimeters.
