The Ministry of Justice announced the arrest of 30 individuals and the initiation of deportation proceedings, emphasizing that anyone residing in Cyprus who commits crimes will face the consequences provided by law, including deportation. The government states that it understands citizens' concerns about the rise in crime and is committed to preventing and combating organized crime, regardless of origin. The Aliens and Immigration Unit (YAM) of the Police conducted a nationwide operation to locate and arrest illegal immigrants. The Ministry calls on citizens to cooperate with the Police by providing information about criminal activities. Parliament is expected to support the passage of legislation that will strengthen the Police's tools in combating crime.
