Cyprus Police Association to Pursue Legal Measures Against Chief's Directives

The President of the Cyprus Police Association (SAC), Angelos Nikolaou, expressed satisfaction with the swift arrangement of a meeting with the Minister of Justice, Kostas Fytiris. During the meeting, the SAC presented its views regarding the recent directives issued by the Chief of Police, which have sparked controversy. The Minister of Justice listened to the Association's concerns and agreed that the Police force follows the instructions of its leadership. At the same time, the SAC confirmed that it will continue to pursue all legal means and measures available to suspend the disputed directives. Mr. Nikolaou urged police officers to remain patient, assuring them of the Association's unwavering support. According to reports, the situation within the Police force is tense, and officers are considering taking measures that will come as a surprise, in protest of the Chief of Police's decision. The SAC is committed to continuing its efforts until their demands are fully met and justice is served.
