Cyprus Reduces Debt in Q3 2025, According to Eurostat

The gross debt of the general government in the Eurozone reached 88.2% of GDP in the third quarter of 2025. As for Cyprus, the debt amounted to 60.6% of GDP, a decrease of 0.7% compared to the previous quarter. According to Eurostat, sixteen EU member states recorded an increase in debt, while eleven reduced it. Greece and Ireland saw the largest decreases, while Romania and Poland experienced the largest increases. The general government debt consists mainly of securities (84.2% in the Eurozone and 83.6% in the EU).
