Cyprus Talks: New Unilateral Measures and Uncertainty from Erhurman

President Christodoulides is preparing new unilateral measures towards Turkish Cypriots in the areas of economy and health, as an effort to restart negotiations on the Cyprus issue. These measures do not require approval from the side of the occupied territories, but the reaction of Tufan Erhurman remains uncertain, as he avoids committing to a trilateral meeting in Nicosia, as previously agreed. Erhurman has changed his stance regarding the search for a solution, talking about sovereign equality and challenging the Greek Cypriot side. The Greek Cypriot side assures that it respects political equality, but not its connection to sovereign equality. Meanwhile, Maria Angela Holguin is in contacts in Washington, Brussels and Geneva, in order to promote the resumption of negotiations.
