Dry River Flows Again in Nata, Offering Hope for Water Reserves

The Dry River has begun to flow again in Nata, albeit at a reduced rate, offering a small glimmer of hope for bolstering Cyprus's water reserves. The resumption of flow was recorded on the last day of the year and is a significant event, given that the island's dams, including Asprokremmos, are at very low levels, below 10% of their capacity. So far, only 260,000 cubic meters of water have flowed into the Asprokremmos dam since October 1st, and forecasts for the next 24 hours are similar. The flow of the Dry River, however small, underscores the importance of water management and the value of every drop in a year of severe hydrological crisis.
