EKO Honored at the Cyprus Responsible Business Awards 2024

Five awards for initiatives with impact on society, education, and responsibility
EKO received five major distinctions at the Cyprus Responsible Business Awards 2024, reaffirming its strategic commitment to corporate responsibility and its positive contribution to society and local communities.
EKO, a 100% subsidiary of HELLENiQ ENERGY, was recognized for initiatives spanning a wide range of social contribution, from supporting vulnerable groups to empowering young people and raising awareness on bone marrow donation.
Specifically, the Company received:
- Gold Award in the Society category for the “Warm Hug” initiative, supporting charitable institutions in Cyprus’s mountainous regions and the Makarios Hospital through the free provision of heating oil.
- Gold Award in the Communication Program category for promoting corporate actions through the “Match for Life Campaign,” highlighting the importance of bone marrow donation in collaboration with the Karaiskakio Foundation.
- Silver Award in the Society category for the “Match for Life” initiative, recognized as a comprehensive awareness and mobilization campaign to enrich the national bone marrow donor registry.
- Silver Award in the Corporate Responsibility / Philanthropic Event category for the “Karaiskakio Gala Dinner,” a special event dedicated to supporting the Foundation.
- Bronze Award in the Education/Scholarships category for the “EKO Proud of Youth” initiative, through which young people were supported with postgraduate scholarships.

The awards ceremony took place at a prestigious event that showcased best practices in Corporate Responsibility, with attendance from businesses, institutional bodies, and state representatives.
These distinctions further strengthen EKO’s position as a leader in responsible entrepreneurship, demonstrating that progress is not measured only in numbers, but also in the positive impact left on society.
