Energy Minister Disagrees with DIKO's Potential Withdrawal from Government

The new Minister of Energy, Michalis Damianou, expressed his disagreement with the possibility of DIKO withdrawing from the government, emphasizing that he will respect the decision of the party's collective bodies. He revealed that there had been an exchange of views with the President of the Republic regarding his move to the Ministry of Energy and that he was informed about the letter from Nikolas Papadopoulos to Nikos Christodoulides regarding the GSI after it was sent. Damianou stressed the importance of constructing the Cyprus-Israel electricity interconnection cable, alongside the Crete-Cyprus one, and acknowledged the need to update the project's economic and technical parameters.
