Erhurman Denies Receiving Proposals from President Christodoulides Regarding Measures for Turkish Cypriots

Tufan Erhurman, leader of the Turkish Cypriot community, stated that he has not received any proposals from the President of the Republic of Cyprus, Nikos Christodoulides, regarding unilateral measures to benefit Turkish Cypriots. This statement was made in response to reports in Greek Cypriot media that Christodoulides wishes to discuss two new initiatives with him. According to the reports, Christodoulides seeks to maintain dialogue with Erhurman and is requesting his opinion before announcing the aforementioned measures, which concern the areas of health and the economy. His aim is to avoid creating tension between the two sides. Erhurman, speaking to the “Haber Kibris” website, stated that he will publicize any proposal he receives from Christodoulides. His statement highlights his willingness to discuss potential initiatives, but also the need for transparency in communication between the two leaders. The news comes from the Cyprus News Agency (CNA) and highlights the ongoing effort for dialogue and finding solutions to benefit both communities in Cyprus.
