eTwinning School Education Conference 2025: 'Education for Citizenship'

The eTwinning School Education Conference 2025 on the theme of 'Education for Citizenship' was successfully held at the University of Cyprus. The conference was organized by the Institute for the Management of European Lifelong Learning Programmes and was held under the patronage of the Minister of Education, Sports and Youth, Dr. Athena Michaelidou. The conference was attended by senior officials of the Ministry, inspectors, principals and teachers from all over Cyprus. The aim was to explore the dimensions of citizenship and its connection to educational practice. The eTwinning action provides teachers with the opportunity to enhance their skills, implement innovative methods and develop collaborations with schools from 46 countries, promoting European identity. The President of the IDEP Lifelong Learning, Professor Petros Pasiardis, emphasized the importance of the conference for teacher training, while the Minister of Education stressed that education for citizenship is an investment in democracy, social cohesion and peace. She also referred to the Cypriot Presidency of the Council of the EU in 2026 and the priority given to strengthening citizenship and developing digital and green skills.
