Foiled Bomb Attack on US Bank in Paris

A bomb attack on a Bank of America branch in Paris was thwarted. French police arrested a man preparing to detonate an improvised explosive device outside the branch. The device consisted of five liters of fuel and an ignition system. The National Anti-Terrorism Prosecutor's Office (PNAT) has taken over the investigation. The incident occurred in the early hours of the morning in front of the bank building in the 8th arrondissement of Paris, near the Champs-Élysées. French Interior Minister Laurent Nuñez stated that vigilance remains at the highest level and reiterated the warning of potential terrorist attacks, particularly against Iranian dissidents, Jewish places of worship, and American interests. The arrest was made immediately after the device was placed. Authorities had already issued a warning of increased terrorist threat following the start of the war in the Middle East. The investigation is ongoing to determine the perpetrator's motives and any possible accomplices.
