French Court Rejects Extradition of Iranian Accused of Property Encroachment in Cyprus

A French court has definitively rejected a request for the extradition of an Iranian citizen to the Republic of Cyprus, who is accused of encroaching on Greek Cypriot properties in the occupied territories. Tufan Erhurman commented on the decision, emphasizing that the property issue is part of the Cyprus problem and should not be treated as a result of individual actions. He highlighted the need for confidence-building approaches and solutions, rather than actions that worsen the climate. The Iranian, who holds a 'citizenship' of the pseudo-state, is linked to investment complexes in Famagusta. The French court deemed the evidence submitted by the Cypriot authorities insufficient to justify the extradition.
