G7: Macron "Changed Dates to Accommodate Trump's Agenda"

France “graciously changed the dates” of the upcoming G7 summit “to take into account” Donald Trump’s agenda, a senior US official told the French news agency. The official was responding to a report by Politico that the summit, originally scheduled for June 14-16, had been moved to June 15-17. The change is due to the US President organizing a mixed martial arts fight at the White House on June 14th, the day of his 80th birthday. The official stated that Trump’s partners considered his participation in the G7 summit essential and adjusted the schedule accordingly. The Elysee Palace commented that the summit date was the result of consultations with all G7 partners. Trump’s return to power has disrupted traditional alliances and requires adjustments to international meetings.
