The House Institutions Committee held a heated debate regarding the 'videogate' scandal, with questions directed towards those involved and limited answers due to the ongoing investigation. The Committee President, Dimitris Dimitriou, stated that as long as answers are not received, the President of the Republic remains exposed. The Deputy Minister to the President, Irene Piki, categorically rejected any suggestion of illegal practices and reiterated that no money has been deposited with the state from the controversial investment, while the donation for education is under consideration. It was also clarified that the amount donated by a pharmaceutical company was deposited into an account for the fire victims. The discussion was characterized by intense clashes between MPs, with a verbal dispute between Giorgos Loukaidis (AKEL) and Andreas Themistokleous (Independent) being a key moment. The Committee requested a list of donors to the Social Support Agency, but received only company logos and total amounts, which have increased in recent years.
