Iphigenia: Millennium Edition - A Site-Specific Performance in Nicosia

Neil LaBute's play, “Iphigenia: Millennium Edition,” is being presented in Greece as a unique site-specific experience at the MAP Hotel in Nicosia. The monologue, which explores themes such as gender relations, political correctness, and masculinity, follows a modern “Agamemnon” confessing his disappointment to a stranger. Andreas Araouzou takes on the role of the hero, 18 years after the initial English-language performances. The play, in Greek translation and directed by Araouzou, begins at the bar of the Scale Restaurant and continues in Suite 504 of the hotel, offering a special atmosphere with a view of the illuminated wall of Nicosia. The performances will take place every Saturday and Sunday, with different ticket options including or excluding dinner at the Scale Restaurant. The performance lasts 45 minutes and tickets are available through ticketmaster.cy, ACS Courier and by phone. The play aims to offer a comic-tragic reminder of human smallness and dark egoism, highlighting the modern tragedy hidden in everyday life.
