Israeli Newspaper 'Haaretz' Claims Israeli 'Consultants' Linked to ND's 2023 Election Campaign

The Israeli newspaper 'Haaretz' revealed a connection between an Israeli online influence company and the 2023 election campaign of the ruling New Democracy party in Greece. According to the report, Israeli President Isaac Herzog helped his then-close associate, Moti Sander, secure work on the ND campaign. Herzog allegedly approached Sander and put him in touch with Energy Minister Stavros Papastavrou, resulting in meetings between Israeli consultants and ND officials. The communication was reportedly discreet due to the sensitivity of the issue, given the Greek wiretapping scandal. The consultant team includes individuals involved in previous scandals in Israel. The government confirmed the contacts but maintained that the cooperation did not proceed.
