Latsi Port Expansion to Begin by June 2026

Work on the expansion of the port in Latsi, Paphos, is expected to begin by June 2026. The project, with a budget of 52 million euros, will be fully funded by the reserves of the Cyprus Ports Authority. The expansion includes the addition of 184 new berths and the creation of 4,500 square meters of land-based support infrastructure, such as boat maintenance areas, restaurants, offices, and facilities for government services. The port of Latsi aims to become the first 'green' port in Cyprus, with the implementation of circular economy practices, rational waste management, and the utilization of renewable energy sources. The Cyprus Ports Authority conducted public consultation with the local community and the Polis Chrysochous Municipality, taking into account environmental issues and the overall operation of the project. Licensing is underway, with the submission and evaluation of the necessary studies.
