Manesis Explains Absence from Papadakis' Funeral: 'I Couldn't Tolerate the Hypocrisy'

Nikos Manesis openly explained his decision not to attend the funeral of Giorgos Papadakis, citing the hypocrisy he felt he would encounter. He emphasized that Papadakis was a friend and colleague with whom he had a close relationship in the past, but life circumstances led them to lose touch. Manesis expressed his sadness over the loss of a talented and historic figure in television, who, however, left feeling bitter. The presenter criticized those who took advantage of the funeral to make statements, while not having shown the respect owed to Papadakis while he was alive. He considered his presence would be contradictory to his values, as he could not coexist with hypocrisy. He expressed his condolences to Papadakis' family, especially Tina and his children, recognizing his role as the best of all his colleagues.
