National Guard: Amounts for Death or Permanent Disability for Special Forces – Reactions from the Military Police

Amendments to the regulations regarding the hazard allowance for National Guard personnel were presented to the Parliamentary Defence Committee. The regulations provide explicit insurance coverage in cases of death or permanent total disability during the performance of high-risk duties. Specifically, in the event of death, a lump sum of €115,000 is provided to the legal heirs, plus €95,000 for each dependent. A corresponding amount is provided in the event of permanent total disability. Coverage depends on medical certification. The regulations have already been approved by the Council of Ministers and are expected to be forwarded to the Plenary Session. At the same time, the possibility of extending insurance coverage to all National Guard personnel was discussed. There were reactions from the Military Police, as the current framework primarily concerns the Special Forces.
