New Larnaca Municipal Geriatric Center Officially Opens Tomorrow

The new Larnaca Municipal Geriatric Center will officially open its doors tomorrow, Friday, January 9th, marking the start of operations for a modern municipal nursing home. The inauguration will be performed by the President of the Republic, Nikos Christodoulides, while accommodation and care for eligible seniors have been available since the beginning of January. The completion of the new senior citizen home was officially announced by the Mayor of Larnaca, Andreas Vyras, on November 7th, emphasizing that the new center stands out for its design and implementation, which are rarely found in other nursing homes in Cyprus. A significant advantage is access at affordable prices, with accommodation for seniors being free for the first two years. The building, located between Chrysogalaktoous and Mouson streets in the parish of Sotira, has been designed with the comfort and well-being of the elderly in mind. It includes modern entry and exit systems, security cameras, underfloor heating, air conditioning, and a large common area for events. It also features indoor gardens for gardening activities. The center has 22 double rooms and 4 single rooms, totaling 48 beds, with infrastructure adapted for people with disabilities. Its construction represents a significant step in providing quality care for the elderly in Larnaca.
