Outopos Files Lawsuit Against the State Seeking Compensation for 2016 Election Ban

Kostas Kyriakou, known as “Outopos,” has filed a lawsuit against the Republic of Cyprus, seeking compensation for being banned from participating in the 2016 parliamentary elections. The decision to ban him was based on a court order for a psychiatric evaluation, following intervention from family members. The government doctor who evaluated him found delusional symptoms but did not recommend hospitalization. The case is being heard at the Nicosia District Court, with proceedings held behind closed doors.
