The wife of the Mayor of Paphos, Louisa Andreou, has issued a new statement vehemently denying allegations that she reported her husband, Phaedon Phaedonos, to the police for assault. She described these claims as entirely false and expressed confusion about the motives of those spreading them, questioning what interest they serve and what their goal is. This statement, she says, is her last public intervention on the matter. The rumors of domestic violence began after posts by Ioanna Fotiou, also known as Annie Alexui, who presented documents allegedly proving Ms. Andreou's hospital admission. Ms. Andreou had previously stated that she was the target of a coordinated attack aimed at politically damaging her husband, calling on those involved to stop the "political games". The Mayor of Paphos has not made any statements regarding the allegations, despite the increasing publicity.
