Parliament Approves Insurance Coverage for Military Personnel

The Parliament unanimously approved an amendment to regulations providing insurance coverage for members of the Republic's Army in the event of death or permanent total disability while performing their duties. The coverage amount is €115,000 lump sum for heirs, plus an additional €95,000 for each dependent. In case of disability, the amount is also €115,000 lump sum plus €95,000 per dependent. The amounts are exempt from taxes and other charges and will be offset against any compensation awarded by a court. The insurance coverage serves as compensation for the risks faced by military personnel while performing dangerous tasks.
