Police Raids Across Cyprus Lead to Arrests and Traffic Violations

The Cyprus Police conducted extensive checks across the island overnight, aiming to prevent criminal activity and enhance public safety. During the operations, four individuals were arrested for offenses such as illegal stay, driving under the influence of alcohol, and possession of narcotics. 1,035 vehicles and 1,282 individuals were checked, while 41 premises were inspected, resulting in 6 complaints for license violations. Furthermore, 283 traffic violations were recorded, including 92 cases of speeding. 30 drivers were arrested for driving under the influence of alcohol and 8 for driving under the influence of drugs. Additionally, 20 vehicles were impounded. These checks are part of an ongoing effort by the Police to combat crime and maintain public order. The Police are committed to continuing targeted patrols and checks to protect citizens.
